Quite south in Eastern Norway. 140 Miles or so north of our Capital City (Oslo), I was up there two weeks ago, it was about 1.5 metres of snow on the roof then.

Nah, far more east, a place called Øyongen. No slopes or anything near our cabin, just wilderness :)

Just thinking of all that snow makes my back hurt.

Sounds great. So how is that job hunt for me in Norway working out?

Yeah, I've NEVER seen so much snow up there, and it's all come the last two months, in fact, I was up there and removed 1.5 metres of snow from the roof two weeks ago.

I'm hunting myself right now, I'll let you know if anything comes up :)

I love it, perfect weather for me now. I run around in jeans and a t-shirt :) And all that snow just builds muscles ;)

2m-3m here in Kawaguchiko. They finally plowed some roads...

The worst part is that I envy you, where I live there is like 10 inches :/

Well my brother in law is the head chef at a hotel and he had to stay there for a few days because he couldn't get home. Roads have been blocked and the train was down as well. But I'm from northern Sweden so I know what to do haha.

Hehe, as a Norwegian I know as well :P But I must admit that moving further north is quite tempting tho'

I am right next to Mt. Fuji now, its very deep this year. The snow covered my lifted FJ80 Land Cruiser, they cleared our road and I got into the Cruiser and moved it around, I had a guy come and clear out the rest with a digger. It hasn't been as bad since that day.

Mt. Fuji? Damn, I'm just a kid playing in the snow then :/

How long is the sun up this time of year?

I live rather far south. so from sun up to sun down... hmm about ten hours I'd say.

Thanks, I guess with the internet and and all I could have checked. It's more than I expected. I picture Norway way up north, but I guess the southern parts are about the same as central Canada eh? That's still pretty far north. I've never been further north than Vancouver Canada. And to think as a kid I complained about shoveling the snow off the walks in Denver. The most we ever got was maybe 36 inches on the worst of days.

There are parts of Canada that are further North than Norway if I'm not mistaken, I did however live a year up north in Norway, where we had a few months without seeing the sun at all.
